Installfest is an event where beginners meet seasoned Linux enthusiasts who assist them with GNU/Linux or issues that require more experience. The InstallFest organized by the Silicon Hill club is more action-packed; besides installations, it also offers lectures, and you can even participate from home.
Installfest
is an event that originated in America, focusing on the GNU/Linux
operating system and its enthusiasts. They often helped their less
experienced colleagues with installing this operating system, and as
more people gathered, they started organizing so-called installation
festivals, or installfests. One of the first installfests took place in a
library, where participants brought their computers (sometimes even
rare or semi-functional ones), and installations began. Seasoned Linux
enthusiasts advised their less experienced colleagues, exchanging many
interesting experiences, creating a friendly and excited atmosphere.
