Testing

We’re striving to make sure that every new Ubuntu Touch release is better than the previous one, with new features that excite and bug fixes that improve performance, usability and stability. To make sure that they all work properly, we’re looking for volunteers who can test pre-releases of Ubuntu Touch and its apps, to find, read and confirm bug reports and to report new bugs as they occur. We aim to catch any system-breaking bugs before releasing a new version, so our QA team thoroughly tests each pre-release. While we resolve many issues this way, extra help is always welcome.


We provide guidelines for contributing to the UBports QA team, whether as a contributor or an official member.

No operating system is perfect, and Ubuntu Touch is no exception. Despite our efforts for a smooth, hassle-free experience, bugs can still occur due to oversight, device incompatibility, or anomalies. A good bug report can make the difference between a quick fix and a prolonged investigation.


If you've found a bug in Ubuntu Touch, we have documentation to guide you through reporting it.


We unfortunately cannot treat all the incoming issues and bug reports with the same amount of priority. To use our available time and resources efficiently, we have to triage all incoming bug reports and feature requests.


With your help, we can determine if the bug report has all the information that we need, assign a fitting priority and ask the right people to work on it.
