Unlocking the bootloader allows you to make changes to the system software of your device, such as installing a new operating system. It’s a security feature implemented by manufacturers to prevent unauthorized modifications, but it's necessary for us to install Ubuntu Touch.
USB Debugging allows your computer to communicate with your device over a USB connection, enabling the UBports Installer to send the necessary commands for installing Ubuntu Touch.
Not all USB-C cables are created equal. We recommend using the original USB cable that came with your device or a high-quality data cable to ensure a stable connection. Some cables are intended only for charging and do not support data transfer.
The process to unlock the bootloader varies depending on the device. Typically, it involves enabling developer options, connecting your device to a computer, and running specific commands. We recommend checking your device manufacturer's website or forums for detailed instructions.
Unlocking the bootloader may void the warranty on some devices. It depends on the manufacturer’s policy, so it’s best to check with them beforehand if this is a concern.
